Award-winning care home in Northampton

Rathgar Care Home Ltd is an award-winning care home in Northampton offering high-quality, personalised care for residents, a range of facilities and a stimulating variety of fun and social activities to promote good mental and physical well-being, specialising in dementia care. Contact our experienced team today to find out more.

Our care home

The building that now houses Rathgar Care Home was originally built as a large family house, owned by a Northampton shoemaker.

It has since been sympathetically modified and extended over the past 30 years to become an ideal environment for a care home. Rathgar now includes specially designed accommodation for the over 65s. We are registered with the CQC for those that are frail or have physical disabilities and sensory impairments. We specialise in care for patients with dementia, Parkinson’s disease, stroke, and end-of-life care. Rathgar is now a 23-bed home, which consists of 11 single rooms and 6 doubles. We sit amongst a street of residential houses in Northampton, where we have built a strong relationship with the local community.

Our peaceful courtyard offers flowers and seating for all to enjoy. The perfect spot in the summer months for residents to relax with a cup of tea of glass of wine, and enjoy the peace and quiet in the warmth of the sun.

Our team

Why choose us?

Our residents and their families choose Rathgar because our commitment to them is clear from the start. We try to make Rathgar a stimulating and entertaining environment where residents are encouraged to take part in as much as they wish to. Keri and the team offer a variety of fun and interesting activities, from quizzes, bowls, cinema, music afternoons and poetry reading to group exercise and 1:1 opportunities to visit coffee shops, the local pub and town.

Recently, we have been focusing on our #nevertoolate campaign. We asked residents, ‘if you had one last wish, what would it be?’ or ‘is there something you wish you had done, but didn’t?’ We want to provide opportunities for our residents to tick things off their bucket lists. So far, we have spent the day at Crufts, attended a rugby match, visited the seaside and had a go on a race car simulator. That's what sets us apart, and ensures our residents have the best quality of life.
